About the Role
The Senior Graphic Designer at Gemius is not just the most experienced designer in the room — they are the one who raises the bar for everyone else in it. This is a role for someone who has spent years in agency or marketing environments, built a strong creative instinct, and is now ready to bring that experience into a leadership capacity.
You will own the quality of design output across multiple brands, work closely with brand managers, strategists, and content teams, and actively mentor and guide junior designers to help them grow. Your work will set the standard. Your feedback will shape the team. This role demands creative excellence, brand thinking, and the ability to lead without losing touch with the craft.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Creative Execution
- Conceptualise and execute high-quality design across all formats, social media creatives, ad campaigns, branding collaterals, packaging, presentations, digital assets, and print.
- Translate briefs into visually compelling, brand-aligned output that serves both the creative and the business objective.
- Ensure all design work adheres to brand guidelines — typography, colour, layout, and tone, without exception.
- Manage multiple briefs and brand accounts simultaneously, delivering within agreed timelines.
- Contribute to campaign ideation and creative strategy sessions with a strong visual and conceptual point of view.
Brand Thinking & Strategy Alignment
- Develop a deep understanding of every brand assigned, their identity, audience, positioning, and communication style.
- Ensure visual consistency across all touchpoints and flag deviations before they go out.
- Work closely with brand managers and strategists to ensure design is not just aesthetically strong but strategically sound.
Quality Control & Review
- Review and sign off on junior designer output before it moves forward in the approval process.
- Maintain and uphold design quality standards across the team.
- Provide structured, constructive feedback that helps junior designers understand not just what to change but why.
- Ensure all final files are delivered in the correct format, resolution, and folder structure.
Mentorship & Team Development
- Actively train and guide junior and associate graphic designers on design principles, software proficiency, brief interpretation, and brand thinking.
- Conduct regular design reviews with junior designers to provide feedback, identify skill gaps, and suggest areas of improvement.
- Share knowledge, references, and industry learnings proactively to elevate the team’s overall skill level.
- Support the onboarding of new design team members and help them get up to speed with Gemius’ processes and standards.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Quality of design output – measured by revision rounds, with a target of no more than 2 rounds per deliverable.
- On-time delivery rate across all assigned briefs – target: 95%+.
- Brand compliance rate – zero deviations in final output without written approval.
- Junior designer performance improvement – tracked through fortnightly rating scores over time.
- Feedback quality – assessed by junior designers and BMs on clarity, usefulness, and consistency of design reviews.
- Client and internal team satisfaction with visual output across managed accounts.
- Contribution to campaign ideation – number of concepts or visual directions proactively brought to the table per month.
What We Are Looking For
- Craft-first – your portfolio speaks before you do. The quality of your work is non-negotiable.
- Brand-aware – you can hold the visual identity of multiple brands simultaneously without confusion.
- Feedback-driven – you give feedback that is specific, actionable, and delivered with intention.
- Mentor by nature – you genuinely invest in the growth of people around you, not just your own output.
- Detail-obsessed – you catch things others miss, every time.
- Collaborative – you work well with non-designers and translate visual thinking into language the whole team understands.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a graphic design role within an agency or marketing environment. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Illustrator is mandatory.
