Content Writer

About the Role

The Content Writer at Gemius sits at the heart of the creative communications function. This is not a role for someone who just writes well – it is a role for someone who thinks strategically, understands brands deeply, and produces copy that serves a purpose beyond looking good on a page.

From high-converting ad copy and social media scripts to long-form content and campaign narratives, you will be writing across formats, brands, and audiences – simultaneously. You will work closely with brand strategists, creative strategists, designers, and performance marketing teams to ensure every piece of content is intentional, on-brand, and built to deliver results.

This role demands clarity of thought, speed of execution, and an obsession with quality – in that order.

Key Responsibilities

Copywriting & Content Creation

  • Craft clear, persuasive, and engaging copy across multiple formats – websites, social media, blogs, email campaigns, advertisements, brochures, scripts, pitches, and digital campaigns.
  • Develop strong ad hooks, CTAs, and performance-driven messaging tailored for paid campaigns on Meta, Google, and other platforms.
  • Produce original ideas aligned with project briefs, brand tone, and target audience.
  • Ensure consistency of messaging across all platforms and formats.

Conceptualisation & Creative Strategy

  • Collaborate with brand strategists, creative strategists, designers, and marketing teams to develop compelling campaign ideas and storytelling approaches.
  • Contribute to advertising concepts and creative strategies aligned with brand objectives and audience insights.
  • Create content outlines, campaign narratives, and storyboards to visualise and present ideas effectively.
  • Actively contribute to influencer campaign concepts and collaboration messaging strategies.

Brand Understanding & Alignment

  • Maintain a deep understanding of each brand’s voice, tone, positioning, and communication guidelines.
  • Ensure all content aligns with brand identity, values, and long-term strategy without deviation.

Performance & Optimisation

  • Write content with a performance-first mindset – engagement, CTR, and conversions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new content formats, emerging technologies, and competitor strategies.
  • Integrate analytics feedback and stakeholder inputs to improve and iterate on content quality and effectiveness.
  • Experiment with new formats, hooks, and messaging approaches proactively.

Editing, Quality Control & Compliance

  • Review, refine, and proofread all copy to ensure clarity, accuracy, and error-free delivery before it goes.
  • Maintain high attention to detail to uphold brand integrity at all times.
  • Ensure adherence to brand guidelines, legal standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain documentation of content workflows, approvals, and revisions.

Time & Project Management

  • Manage multiple brands and projects simultaneously without compromising on quality.
  • Deliver high-quality content within deadlines in a fast-paced agency environment.
  • Maintain full accountability and ownership of all assigned tasks from brief to delivery.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Volume of content delivered on time against the monthly content plan, per brand.
  • Percentage of tasks delivered by the agreed deadline – target: 95%+ on-time delivery.
  • Average revision rounds per content piece – target: no more than 2 rounds per deliverable.
  • CTR, engagement rate, and conversion metrics on paid content, reviewed monthly with the performance team.
  • RM and Brand Manager sign-off rate on first submission, indicating alignment with brand guidelines.
  • Number of factual, grammatical, or brand errors flagged post-approval – target: zero.
  • Number of campaign ideas, concepts, or content directions proactively contributed per month.
  • Feedback from designers, strategists, and performance teams on quality of briefs and collaborative output.

What We Are Looking For

  • The right person for this role is not just a good writer. They are sharp thinkers who use words as a tool – to persuade, to connect, and to convert.
  • Deadline-driven – you treat a due date as a commitment, not a suggestion.
  • Detail-obsessed – you proofread your own work before anyone else has to ask.
  • Brand-aware – you can hold the voice of multiple brands in your head at once.
  • Collaborative – you work well with designers, strategists, and clients without ego.
  • Curious – you stay current on trends, formats, and what is working in the market.
  • Accountable – you own your output from brief to delivery.
